Each session of Pathways to Leadership combines conversations with local and regional leaders, interactive activities, and opportunities to connect with fellow participants. An experienced facilitator will guide the group throughout the six weeks, helping participants explore each topic, ask questions, and connect what they’re learning along the way.

Fall 2026 program

Participation: Open to anyone. Chamber membership is not required.

Systems that Support Our Community

Build a foundational understanding of how local government and community systems work, including who makes decisions and how the different levels of government interact. Participants will explore how their voice matters and identify productive ways to become informed, connected, and engaged.

Public Safety & Community Health

Explore how public safety, healthcare, and community partners work together to meet the needs of a rapidly growing community. Participants will better understand how resources are planned, funded, and deployed while examining innovative approaches to maintaining community safety and well-being.

Education & Workforce

Examine the education, workforce development, and business resources that create opportunities for individuals and employers in New Braunfels. Participants will explore how collaboration among educators, businesses, and community organizations develops talent, supports economic mobility, and strengthens the local economy.

Stewardship of Growth

Develop a better understanding of how New Braunfels plans for and manages growth, including the roles of infrastructure, economic development, taxation, and land-use decisions. Participants will examine the opportunities and constraints facing decision-makers and consider how thoughtful planning can balance growth with community priorities and quality of life.

Leadership through Service

Explore how nonprofit organizations address community needs and the many ways residents can contribute beyond financial giving. Participants will identify opportunities to volunteer, serve on boards and committees, advocate for organizations, and connect their individual skills and interests with meaningful community needs

Advocacy & Public Policy

Equips participants to engage constructively in advocacy and public policy by understanding the competing interests, constraints, and checks and balances involved in community decision-making. Participants will practice communicating their perspectives effectively and using their influence with intention, integrity, and respect for the broader community.
