Talent isn’t the problem. Misaligned leadership is.
Dr. Carol Wheeler is a leadership keynote speaker, consultant, and former professor who specializes in manager development and team alignment. For more than 25 years, she has studied, taught, and practiced leadership development across healthcare, education, nonprofit, and corporate sectors. Today, she partners with organizations ready to strengthen managers, deepen employee commitment, and improve organizational performance.
As founder of NopaLeadership, Dr. Wheeler created the Clarity x Connection™ framework to address two critical drivers of workplace effectiveness. Clarity ensures managers understand expectations, strengths, roles, and strategy. Connection builds the trust, relational intelligence, and shared language teams need to collaborate and execute. When managers lead with both, engagement rises—but more importantly, commitment takes root. Employees don’t just comply; they contribute. They don’t just show up; they invest.
Her work is grounded in strengths-based leadership but goes far beyond assessment results. Carol helps leaders translate insight into action—teaching managers how to lead the specific people on their teams and align them around shared purpose. Her customized leadership training, manager development cohorts, and team workshops create sustainable behavior change that strengthens retention, morale, and collective ownership.
Dr. Wheeler holds a Ph.D. in Leadership Education from Oklahoma State University, a Master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Indiana University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Leadership Development from Texas A&M University. She is also a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach.
Clients describe Carol as both expert and advocate—insightful, candid, and deeply invested in their success. Whether delivering a keynote or guiding a manager development initiative, she equips leaders with clarity, connection, and the tools to build teams defined not just by performance, but by commitment.
