During the monthly Chamber Board of Directors meeting on Monday, March 15, Chair of the Board Nathan Manlove awarded his first Chair of the Board Award. This award is designed to honor individuals who have made a significant contribution to the community in a specific field of civic endeavor.
The awardee of the first Chair of the Board award for 2021 is Cheryl Fraser in the field of community health. Cheryl’s efforts throughout 2020 and into 2021 on the pandemic more than qualify her for this honor.
When the pandemic struck, Cheryl went above and beyond her job description, exhibiting a cooperative spirit, credible presence, unmatched work ethic, and a fair arbiter for the community’s health and well-being. Most recently, her dedicated efforts have led to mass vaccination clinics at the New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center, with over 30,000 people vaccinated in Comal County.
The awardee is presented a letter from the Chair of the Board at a Board of Directors meeting, then presented a plaque at the Annual Chamber Banquet. The selection committee for this award is made up of the Immediate Past Chair, Chair of the Board, and Chair-Elect.
