The Chamber’s Board of Directors convened on Monday, September 28 via Zoom conference call with Chamber Chair of the Board Wes Studdard presiding at this virtual meeting.
Board members received an update on the Chamber’s Legislative Priorities from Chris Douglas, CEO of Communities in Schools of South-Central Texas and the Chamber's Government Affairs Committee Chair. Following a membership poll asking for feedback on various state and local issues, a sub-committee of Government Affairs met to draft the Chamber’s Priorities ahead of the 87th session.
In addition, several accomplishments were celebrated including two tenure recognitions and two Chair of the Board Awards.
Shanna Slatter, Executive Assistant to the President was recognized for 15 total years by the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE) and Donna Meurin, Director of CVB Sales was recognized for 25 years with the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce.
The fourth and fifth Chair of the Board Awards for 2020 were presented by Wes Studdard to Dr. Judith Thompson in the field of Community Health and Larry New in the field of Small Business Development.
