I am a dedicated community member, engineer, and longtime resident committed to serving people with transparency and accountability. With a background in engineering, I bring a practical, data-driven approach to addressing infrastructure, growth, and long-term planning challenges. Listening and understanding the community needs, while turning those conversations into meaningful action is my goal. I want to ensure responsible growth while preserving the character and quality of life. I am focused on improving public services, strengthening infrastructure, and promoting fiscal responsibility. Above all, I am committed to representing every voice and working collaboratively to build a stronger, more connected community.
Q: If elected, how would you support a thriving local economy, particularly small businesses, and ensure City policies encourage investment and long term economic vitality?
A:
* Invest in parks, plazas, trails, and community gathering areas.
* Partner with local businesses during redevelopment planning.
* Support mixed-use zoning that encourages walk-ability and small business growth.
* Allocate funding for community events that highlight local culture.
A real-world application of my priorities
When redeveloping a city-owned property, I would advocate for public space combined with small retail storefronts to encourage local entrepreneurship and preserve New Braunfels unique character.
Q: How are roads and major infrastructure projects funded, and what approach would you take to ensure infrastructure keeps pace with, or gets ahead of, growth?
A: Funded through a mix of public and private funds, with majority coming from public sources:
Taxes(local, state & federal), bonds, public-private partnerships, grants.
* Require growth projections to be tied directly to infrastructure capacity (roads, water, wastewater, public safety).
* Push for impact fees or developer contributions that offset the cost of growth.
A real-world application of my priorities
I would vote to prioritize funding for a roadway expansion before approving a large nearby development, ensuring infrastructure keeps pace with growth instead of reacting after the problems arises.
Q: What is your vision for long range planning in our city, and how would you balance proactive infrastructure investment with responsible fiscal management as the community grows?
A: My goal is to align land use, roads, water, drainage, and public safety into one strategy. Planning should be updated regularly, transparent to the public, and tied to measurable benchmarks. Where the city ensures proactive infrastructure investments, responsible decisions making by city leaders, a strong balance between development and infrastructure, and most of all has the current residents in mind.
