Q&A Responses
1. Infrastructure and economic competitiveness
Q: How will you prioritize road, bridge, and infrastructure investments so businesses can move goods, serve customers, and grow without delays or added costs?
A: The prioritizations lie in the most critical aspects in moving business in a positive direction. The county must be inline to decipher and identify a multi-year plan as it relates to current infrastructure. The most acted upon infrastructure is paramount which involves roads/bridges, water, sewer and drainage. Through impactful partnerships with local municipalities, landowners and utilities we can build upon the structure that is built for success of our community. Connectivity is a life-line to business success and survivability that is as valuable as anything. I would be an advocate for 1st in class streamlined connectivity throughout our businesses in Comal County. As a businessman, rancher and 20+ year community volunteer I support local business and promote the ease of goods to sale and my neighbors to their profession in order to lesson the burden of all taxpayers in Comal County.
2. Fiscal policy and predictability
Q: How will you balance responsible budgeting and tax rates with the need to invest in services and infrastructure that support a strong business environment?
A: I aim to balance the needs of the county as I have lead my businesses and my elected volunteer service. I plan to support the needs of the county as prescribed by law and also be the most available advocate for the stakeholders as a businessman, rancher and 20 year resident of precinct 2. I am also privileged enough to be elected as multi-term volunteer trustee/officer at NBISD school board. I am incredibly proud of my work concerning child welfare, taxes and improving the profile of a learner in our community. Through the work of a high functioning -award winning board and administration we continue to to pass another balanced budget while opening new schools and remodeling almost every campus in the district.
3. Growth management and development certainty
Q: How will you support sustainable growth while providing clear, consistent policies so businesses and developers can plan and invest with confidence?
A: Active stakeholder engagement regarding the most predictable land use standards through any means available This is work worth being done to codify with the municipalities in the precinct and land/business owners as well as commissioners on seat. Prioritizing and planning for transparent and targeted infrastructure in the same breath as comprehensive master planning. The court must be available on the ground with the experience, skill set, and vision aligned with its community.
