Q&A Responses

1. Records access and efficiency

Q: How will you improve the speed, accuracy, and online accessibility of public records and filings so businesses, lenders, and property owners can complete transactions efficiently?

A:The Clerk’s Office plays a critical role in keeping transactions moving smoothly for businesses, lenders, and property owners. My focus would be on ensuring records are accurate, well-organized, and easy to access, especially online.

That means prioritizing clear workflows, consistent procedures, and reliable digital systems so filings are processed correctly the first time. I would also emphasize clear guidance for users, so businesses and professionals know what is required before submitting documents, reducing delays and rework. Efficient records management saves time, reduces uncertainty, and supports local economic activity.

2. Elections administration and confidence

Q: What steps will you take to ensure elections are accurate, secure, and timely while minimizing disruption to businesses and the workforce on election days?

A:  Elections must be accurate, secure, and timely while also respecting the needs of local businesses and the workforce. My approach is to ensure election operations are well-planned, clearly communicated, and consistently executed.

This includes close coordination with election workers and county departments, maintaining clear timelines, and communicating early and often with the public about voting options and schedules. Predictability and transparency help minimize disruption while maintaining confidence in the integrity of the election process.

3. Customer service and operational reliability

Q: How will you manage staffing, training, and technology so the Clerk’s office provides consistent, predictable service to businesses, attorneys, and the public?

A: The Clerk’s Office should be a reliable, professional point of contact for businesses, attorneys, and residents alike. That begins with well-trained staff, clear expectations, and consistent processes.

I would focus on supporting staff through training and clear procedures, using technology to improve, not complicate, service, and ensuring the office operates with professionalism and accountability. When customers receive accurate information the first time and know what to expect, trust is built and businesses can operate more efficiently.
