The Greater New Braunfels region is marking significant progress in workforce development, with recent milestones underscoring a strong commitment to building a talent pipeline that meets the demands of the modern manufacturing and skilled trades economy. From the launch of new training hubs to the graduation of advanced manufacturing students, collaborative efforts across the region are delivering real impact for employers and job seekers alike.
The Lone Star Chapter of TX FAME (Texas Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education) recently celebrated the graduation of its inaugural cohort from Texas State Technical College (TSTC). Ten students completed the competitive two-year Associate of Applied Science degree in Advanced Manufacturing Technology, earning more than 1,800 hours of hands-on, industry-aligned experience. "The graduation of the first TX FAME Lone Star Chapter cohort is a proud moment for the students, their families, and the community leaders who invested in the future of manufacturing in our region," said Mike Crowley, New Braunfels Chamber VP of Workforce & Industry Development. "This achievement reflects years of collaboration between TSTC, the Lone Star TX FAME chapter, employers, and the students, and we’re proud of all they’ve accomplished."
Adding to the region’s momentum, Skillpoint Alliance recently opened a permanent location at the Central Texas Technology Center (CTTC) in New Braunfels. In partnership with TSTC, Skillpoint is now offering its Certified Production Technician program locally, giving residents streamlined access to high-value training for in-demand industrial careers. "Skillpoint Alliance’s permanent location in New Braunfels marks a crucial milestone in our efforts to provide top-tier workforce training," said Crowley. "By offering the Certified Production Technician program in partnership with Texas State Technical College, we are empowering our local talent and ensuring that New Braunfels remains competitive in the fast-evolving job market."
Together, these workforce education wins highlight the Greater New Braunfels region’s proactive approach to solving labor shortages, strengthening industry partnerships, and preparing a future-ready workforce. Through continued collaboration with training providers, employers, and community leaders, the region is well-positioned to support both economic growth and upward mobility for its residents.
