The New Braunfels City Council will meet Monday, October 8 at 6:00 p.m. for their Regular Meeting at 550 Landa Street. If not attending, the meeting can be viewed on Spectrum Enterprise channel 21 or AT&T U-Verse channel 99. The agenda includes three proclamations, two presentations, eight items on the Consent Agenda, five of which are ordinances, and nine Individual Items For Consideration, including an amendment to clarify the need of a certificate of occupancy to utilize public river entrances and exits.
The meeting will begin with a proclamation for Chamber of Commerce Week, Community Planning Month, and Domestic Violence Awareness Month, followed by presentations on Public Improvement District Guidelines and Implementation and the establishment of a Mayor’s Fitness Council.
The Consent Agenda includes the approval of the appointment of two individuals to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, the expenditure of Solid Waste and Recycling funds in the amount of $31,110 for the engine repair of unit 1096, and a City Wide Pedestrian Improvements Project, through award from the Alamo Area Metropolitan Organization, to authorize the City Manager to enter into a professional services design contract, among other items.
The Individual Items for Consideration include an ordinance designating 546 South Academy Avenue as a Historic Landmark to be known as the Bartels-Kelly House, approval to authorize the City Manager to enter into professional services contracts to complete the Preliminary Design Report (PER) for three roadway projects as part of the proposed 2019 Bond Program, an appeal of the Non-Residential and Multifamily Design Standards, Articulation and Exterior Building Material requirements for a proposed office/warehouse development, and an ordinance amending the Code of Ordinances to clarify the need of a certificate of occupancy to utilize public river entrances and exits, remove the requirements of a shuttle poster, and create a limit to the number of Comal and Guadalupe River Shuttle Permits that are available, among other items.
