Lefko USA, a Canadian-based advanced plastics manufacturer, has chosen New Braunfels, Texas, as the site of its new U.S. headquarters. This international relocation underscores New Braunfels’ growing reputation as a hub for innovation and advanced manufacturing and marks a significant economic milestone for the city, region and state.

Lefko USA will establish its U.S. operations in a facility that will expand to more than 70,000 square feet, supporting the production of blow-molded plastic products such as fuel tanks, recreational vehicle components, hospital bed parts and other specialty products. Over the next five years, the company will create more than 150 new full-time jobs in Comal County with average wages exceeding $67,000. This investment will not only bring high-quality employment opportunities but also generate lasting economic growth, returning millions of dollars into the local economy.

“This announcement demonstrates the impact of long-term economic development efforts led by the Chamber, the city and our partners,” said Jonathan Packer, president and CEO of the New Braunfels Chamber. “By building relationships with innovative companies like Lefko and aligning resources across the city, county and region, we’re ensuring that New Braunfels remains a destination of choice for advanced manufacturing and high-quality jobs.”

New Braunfels Mayor Neal Linnartz echoed that sentiment. “We are thrilled to welcome Lefko to New Braunfels,” Linnartz said. “Their investment here not only speaks volumes about the competitiveness of our community, but more importantly, it means real jobs and new opportunities for New Braunfels families. We look forward to working together with Lefko to make sure that our city benefits in ways that strengthen our economy and our quality of life.”

A Product of Regional Partnership

The successful recruitment of Lefko USA reflects the strength of regional economic development partnerships. The project was supported locally by the New Braunfels Economic Development Corporation and the city of New Braunfels, and advanced at the state level with the support of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and Tourism. Importantly, the effort was made possible through collaboration with the greater:SATX Regional Economic Development Partnership, showcasing how regional cooperation is driving growth that benefits local communities while powering the broader Texas economy.

“This win reflects the extraordinary results we achieve when we approach economic development as a region,” remarked Sarah Carabias Rush, president & CEO of greater:SATX. “Together with our partners in New Braunfels, we demonstrated the full strength and competitiveness of the Greater San Antonio region, making a compelling case for Lefko Plastics to choose this region for growth. We are proud to welcome Lefko to our community and look forward to supporting their success as they join our thriving advanced manufacturing ecosystem.”

“Lefko’s decision to launch their first U.S. operation outside of Canada right here in New Braunfels is a tremendous win for our community,” said Shane Hines, president of the New Braunfels EDC Board. “These new manufacturing jobs are possible thanks to the strong partnership and support from the City of New Braunfels, Comal County, and the State of Texas.”

Comal County leaders emphasized the broader regional impact of Lefko’s investment. “Comal County is proud to collaborate with the New Braunfels Chamber in supporting Lefko’s U.S. expansion,” said Comal County Commissioner Kevin Webb. “This investment not only brings quality manufacturing jobs to our community but also reinforces Comal County’s role as a strategic nexus for manufacturers seeking to innovate, expand and succeed in our region.”

Independent analysis projects that Lefko USA’s investment will generate more than $640 million in total economic output by 2030 and support more than 550 direct and indirect jobs across the Greater New Braunfels region. With its scale, wages, and growth potential, this project is a transformative win for New Braunfels, reinforcing its role as a key player in Texas’ manufacturing economy.
