The New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce announced the local expansion of high-tech manufacturer AUMOVIO, formerly the Automotive Group sector of Continental. The $110 million expansion project will create 100 new high-technology jobs and add 65,000 square feet of advanced manufacturing space. The investment represents a major milestone in New Braunfels’ continued growth as a global and regional center for autonomous mobility and advanced manufacturing.

AUMOVIO opened its New Braunfels facility in 2022 as its first greenfield plant in the United States. Since opening, the facility has produced more than 13 million radar sensors used in advanced driver assistance systems and employs nearly 500 local residents. The new expansion includes a state-of-the-art automated facility and supports the company’s broader strategy to increase production capacity for North American customer projects in advanced driver assistance systems.

“We are proud to support AUMOVIO’s continued growth in Comal County through this expansion and our recent tax abatement approval,” said Comal County Commissioner Kevin Webb. “This investment not only brings more high-quality manufacturing jobs to our community but also strengthens New Braunfels’ position as a leader in advanced automotive technology. AUMOVIO’s commitment to innovation and safety aligns with our county’s vision for sustainable, high-impact economic growth.”

“AUMOVIO’s expansion further establishes New Braunfels as a regional hub for autonomous mobility and advanced manufacturing,” said Jonathan Packer, president and CEO of the New Braunfels Chamber. “This project is not just about new jobs; it’s about shaping the future of transportation innovation right here in our region.”

“Since opening our original facility in 2022, we’ve employed nearly 500 people and produced around 13 million radars,” said Brandon Lane, AUMOVIO’s New Braunfels plant manager. “That’s a huge impact not just to our local community but to the global automotive industry. We’re ready to continue that momentum.”

With a growing cluster of high-technology manufacturers and a workforce skilled in engineering, automation and precision manufacturing, New Braunfels continues to attract global investment in advanced industries. The AUMOVIO expansion reflects the community’s commitment to fostering innovation, sustainability and economic diversification through collaboration among public and private partners.

The Chamber, along with the City of New Braunfels, Comal County and the New Braunfels Economic Development Foundation worked closely with AUMOVIO to support the project.
