The Comal County Conservation Alliance (CCCA) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit, formed in February 2018 by a group of local citizens who wanted to raise public awareness about the need for land preservation in our fast-growing county. The benefits of preserving open space are manifold, including protecting our water resources, providing wildlife habitat, giving both residents and visitors access to outdoor spaces for recreation, and ensuring that our beautiful Hill Country landscape and rural charm continue to be the hallmarks of Comal County. Preserving land, water, and wildlife in Comal County benefits our citizens, our community, and our economy as well as the natural world that supports us. The CCCA pursues its mission to preserve land, water, and wildlife in Comal County through a variety of means: educating the public via monthly programs, workshops, information booths at community events, and social media; meeting with elected officials to share information about public and private conservation funding opportunities; encouraging county-wide planning efforts to preserve critical natural elements in Comal County; and partnering with other local organizations dedicated to keeping Comal County a desirable place to live, work, and visit.
