Storm damage? SBA disaster loans may be available

Application deadline for physical damage loans: November 9, 2026

Did your business experience damage from the severe storms and tornadoes on August 28? Financial assistance may be available through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to help businesses recover and get back on track.

Businesses in Comal and Guadalupe counties, along with several surrounding counties, may be eligible for low-interest disaster loans to help cover losses not fully covered by insurance.

Here's what business owners should know:

  • Physical damage loans: Businesses of all sizes may qualify for up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged property, equipment, inventory, and other business assets. Applications are due November 9, 2026.
  • Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL): Eligible small businesses and nonprofits may qualify for working capital assistance to help meet financial obligations resulting from the disaster, even if they did not experience physical damage. Applications are due June 10, 2027.
  • Interest rates: Rates for eligible businesses without credit available elsewhere start at 4%, with repayment terms of up to 30 years, depending on eligibility.

You don't have to navigate recovery alone. If your business was impacted, take a few minutes to explore the available assistance and determine whether an SBA disaster loan could help.
