It is with great pride that we recognize Lance Griffin as a recipient of the Chair of the Board Award in the field of Resource Leadership. Each year, no more than six awards are given, and his vision and stewardship in both industry and community makes him truly deserving of this honor.
With more than 44 years of experience, including 15 years as Director of Aggregate Operations for the Cemex South Central Region, he has led with expertise in operations, community relations, and environmental stewardship. At Cemex’s Balcones Quarry, his passion for innovation and sustainability drove the creation of a state-of-the-art water recycling system. Using 90% less water annually, the system protects the Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone and ensures sustainable operations for years to come.
Beyond his professional contributions, his heart for community service is equally remarkable. He serves on the Hope Hospice Board, an active member of the Manufacturers’ Association, and supports United Way of Comal County through Rockin’ the Quarry. He also dedicates time and energy to initiatives that strengthen New Braunfels, including The Brauntex Theater, Rock Haus Foundation, Headwaters at the Comal, Volunteers in Medicine, The Crisis Center of Comal County, and Communities in Schools of South-Central Texas.
Congratulations to Lance!
